NEW DELHI: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the Centre had not given approval for the SilverLine project. He said that the project can be approved only after considering the technical and financial aspects. In his reply to Adoor Prakash MP, the Union Railway Minister said that the DPR of the project was incomplete at present and that the project worth over Rs 1,000 crore needed the approval of the Union Cabinet.

The Railways Minister also told Adoor Prakash that the Rs 33,700 crore loan scheme needed to be reconsidered. Ashwini Vaishnaw had said in the Rajya Sabha yesterday that Kerala should not rush into the project.
