KANNUR: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Saturday said that if the Centre does not give final approval for the SilverLine, the state government will look into other options. Kodiyeri also clarified that there is no ambiguity in the K-rail stone laying.

"The stone laying for social impact assessment is currently underway. The stone is laid by the K-Rail, not the revenue department. Only when the land is acquired, revenue department do the proceedings. The DPR has not been finalized. If CPI has opposition to the SilverLine, it is up to the CPI secretary to say. We don't care what anyone else says. CPI has the right to address its opposition to the CPM".

"A league leader welcomed the BJP march. The Co-Le-B alliance is evident from this. The SilverLine protest is also part of this. The government would take over the land only after paying compensation", Balakrishnan said.
