THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The confusion over the survey stone laying that distorted the Silver Line in the first place has turned into an open dispute, which has become another issue for the government and the Left Front.
The Left front cannot fully ignore the protests against the project. The CPI had yesterday expressed displeasure over the need for some reforms in the government. As a follow-up to this, the CPI Minister K Krishnan said that the Revenue Department had not given instructions to lay survey stones. He said that all project related works are taking place based on K-rail's instructions. The Revenue Department has not proposed to lay stones. The stone will be removed if the social impact study project is negative. However, the minister explained that for the study, border areas should be marked.
Following this, K-rail has come up with an explanation. Opposition has also asked who gave instructions to lay survey stones.
"The decision to lay the stone was taken by K-Rail. The alignment is to be decided by the agency requesting the land. The land will be acquired and handed over by the Revenue Department only at the point of acquisition." said K. Rajan, Minister of Revenue
"The stone is being laid as per the decision of the K Rail authorities". said Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, CPM State Secretary
