NEW DELHI: The Central government is planning to withdraw the 'Covid-19 caller tune' which became the official caller tune in the country during Covid pandemic. Covid warning via caller tune was introduced two years ago and to raise awareness about Covid disease and vaccination. Sources close to the central government have hinted that the warning messages like 'Wear a mask, use a sanitizer and keep a social distance' will soon be stopped.
Caller Tune was introduced in the country during the first lockdown. Amitabh Bachchan's voice was used then. The caller tunes, which were useful at first, later became annoying. People turned to WhatsApp calls as there was delay in connecting normal calls after the Covid warning. It is informed that people will soon be able to set the caller tune of their choice.
