If the Hema committee report comes out, then man idols will break, said actress Parvathy Thiruvothu. The government is trying to delay the report. The government is women-friendly only during the polls. We may have to wait till the next elections for the report to be implemented, she criticized.

When I spoke for protecting my rights, some people threatened me that they will take away my opportunity. They tried to stop and silence me, Parvathy said. Those opposing the internal complaint redressal cells are some of the strongest people in cinema, she added.

‘I am tired of being bold. Whether a man or a woman, the plight of others can be understood only if our inner humanity is awakened. Every person should be allowed to live according to their likes and beliefs’, Parvathy said at the Pancharatna Women Talk organized as part of the Soorya Festival.

To cover their head is their right. As long as it doesn’t affect their lives, we should not forcefully change it. Someone else should not do it. No government should control one’s faith. I am a person who has lived with a lot of freedom at my home. Family, parents, everything has helped shape me, she said.

The doctors were asking information from a girl, who was recently harassed by a director, in a weird manner. Even the doctors are unaware of the way in which one should behave with someone who has been through trauma. The girl approached me unable to withstand the examination and interrogation. These people need to be trained in trauma caring. Many people do not even know that there is an internal complaint redressal mechanism to complain and resolve problems at workplaces, Parvathy said.
