GWALIOR: A primary school teacher in Madhya Pradesh was raided based on information that he was acquiring property beyond his income. The raid at the teacher’s house was conducted by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). The officials were shocked to see the assets of the accused, identified as Prashant Parmar, a primary school teacher at a government school in Maharajpura. He earns a monthly income of Rs 10,400. It was found in the raid that the accused owns four colleges and four luxury houses.
According to reports, Prashant Parmar started working at the school in 2006. However, the inquiry has not been able to find out how he was able to acquire assets worth crores with his mere job income. Parmar, who belongs to an agricultural family, did not inherit the property. He owns two marriage halls, an industrial complex and a school in Gwalior. His two brothers also own schools in the area.
The officials have recovered Rs 7.5 lakhs and jewellery worth Rs 36 lakhs from his house. It has not yet been confirmed whether the colleges owned by Parmar are government approved and on what basis are they admitting students. Officials have found that he owns assets worth around Rs 2.13 crores.
