CHENNAI: Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan has approached the court against a producer for not paying his full remuneration mentioned in the agreement. The actor has approached the Madras High Court against KE Gnanavel Raja, a prominent Tamil producer. In his petition, Sivakarthikeyan alleged that he did not receive his full remuneration of Rs 15 crores for working in the film 'Mr Local' produced by Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green Films.

As per Sivakarthikeyan's complaint, his remuneration for the film was fixed at Rs 15 crores. Although the film got released in 2019, the producer had only paid him only Rs 11 crore and the balance Rs 4 crore remained unpaid. In addition to this, Rs 91 lakh was deducted from the actor's account as the producer failed to remit TDS for the payment of Rs 11 crore.

Sivakarthikeyan had signed an agreement with Gnanavel Raja in 2018. According to Sivakarthikeyan, Gnanavel had initially promised that Rs 14 crore will be paid in several instalments and the last Rs 1 crore will be paid ahead of the release of the film. However, the producer failed to pay his remuneration in full even though the film got released in 2019.
