NEW DELHI: BJP activists have staged protests in front of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house. The protest was led by BJYM national president and BJP MP Tejasvi Surya from IP college to the chief minister’s residence. The front gate of the chief minister's residence and the security barriers were vandalized. CCTV cameras were also damaged. The protest was called against Kejriwal’s statement against the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ in the Delhi assembly last week, said the Delhi police.
The BJP leaders had earlier demanded a tax-cut for the movie in Delhi, to which Kejriwal had replied, “BJP should ask Vivek Agnihotri to upload ‘The Kashmir Files’ on TouTube and everyone will see it for free.” He also said that some people are earning crores in the name of Kashmiri Pandits.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed on its official Twitter account that the incident took place with the full support of the Delhi Police. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house has been vandalized. Anti-social elements have broken CCTV cameras and security barriers. The barrier on the gate has also been broken, the party said on Twitter. The AAP has asked whether all this was done demanding Kashmiri Pandit’s rehabilitation.
Protests have also erupted over Kejriwal's statement that the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits was a hoax. Earlier, it was alleged that Kejriwal had mocked the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the valley. However, Kejriwal had clarified that he was laughing at the BJP. Instead of rehabilitating the Pandits, the BJP is doing drama, he said.
