THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The bus fare hike in the state will come into effect soon. Minimum bus charge will be Rs 10. The decision was taken as LDF approved the bus fare hike. The Front has rejected the demand of private bus owners for a minimum charge of Rs 12.

LDF convener A Vijayaraghavan said the decision was taken after realizing the plight of private bus owners in the wake of the sharp rise in petrol and diesel prices.
