THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that around five lakh jobs will be created. He was speaking at the launch of the initiative to establish one lakh Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the next one year. The project costing Rs 120 crore will start with one-day workshops in local bodies. Guidance will be given to entrepreneurs. In the second phase, fairs will be organized for obtaining licenses, loans and financial assistance. The government expects Rs 10,000 crore investment in the industrial sector in four years. 12,443 MSMEs were newly launched. Through this, investments of Rs 1292.62 crore were attracted and 46,268 jobs were created.
Minister P Rajeev, who presided over the function, said that the government has made extensive preparations for the implementation of the MSME project. Planning Board Vice Chairman Prof VK Ramachandran, Mayor Arya Rajendran, VK Prashanth MLA, Chief Secretary VP Joy and Industrial Principal Secretary Suman Billa also spoke.
