THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The contract company withdrew from laying the survey stones for SilverLine Project. The company headquartered in Chennai withdrew from the contract. The company withdrew from the project after taking into account the public outcry against the project and after convinced that the work could not be completed within the stipulated time.
K Rail entrusted Velciti Consulting Engineers Pvt Ltd to lay survey stones to parts from Kottayam to Ernakulam and then from Thrissur to Malappuram. The contract was signed in May 2021.
4202 concrete studs were to be installed from Kottayam to Ernakulam alone. The company claimed that they decided to withdraw from the project in view of the daily protests in the area and the financial hardship the company is facing.
This company provides geotechnical services for major bridges and highways in the country. Meantime, K Rail explained that the company was excluded from the project due to their poor performance and their inability to complete the work within the allotted time.
