NEW DELHI: ‘’When the country’s biggest political party indulges in such goondaism, what sort of message will it send to youth?", asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while reacting to the attacks at his official residence last day. "Kejriwal is not important. I can put my life at stake for the country. The country is important. We need to take the country forward together. We have already wasted 75 years in fighting", he said.
BJP activists, led by BJYM leader and MP Tejasvi Surya, had staged protests in front of Kejriwal’s residence and vandalized his house last day. The protest was called against Kejriwal’s statement about the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ in the Delhi assembly last week. The front gate of the chief minister's residence, CCTV cameras and security barriers were vandalized. The Delhi police have arrested eight people in connection with the incident.
The BJP wanted to kill Arvind Kejriwal after its debacle in the Punjab polls, alleged Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Meantime, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj has moved to the Delhi High Court against the alleged attack on the chief minister’s official residence. His plea sought that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) should be constituted to undertake an independent, fair and time-bound investigation into the incident.
