KOCHI: The prosecution said Dileep’s demand for a CBI probe in the conspiracy case cannot be accepted. The Director General of Prosecutions argued in the high court that the accused could not be given the power to select the investigating agency.
The prosecution said the case need not be handed over to the CBI. The actor had earlier demanded that the probe be handed over to the CBI. With this, the court asked the government’s stand. In response, the prosecution told the court that a CBI probe is not needed.
Meantime, the court raised strong questions against director Balachandra Kumar while hearing Dileep's plea to quash the FIR against him in the case of conspiracy to kill the investigating officers.
The court asked why Balachandra Kumar had not lodged a complaint earlier despite having strong evidence against Dileep and it does not cast doubt on whether he had any malicious intent. The court had also raised questions against Balachandra Kumar during the hearing yesterday.
