MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has decided to lift the Kovid restrictions completely. The restrictions will be lifted from Saturday, the start of the Marathi New Year. Masks are no longer mandatory in the state and wearing the mask is an individual choice. Wearing a mask in public is encouraged but not mandatory. The Maharashtra government has said that there will be no more restrictions on crowd and social gatherings in the state.
Full concessions were granted as there has been a tremendous improvement in Covid sitiuation. The crucial decision was taken by the cabinet meeting held today. The order was issued by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's office. However, Health Minister Rajesh Toppe said in news conference that the use of the mask was not mandatory but it should be continued for a few more days.
