SRINAGAR: A woman was arrested on Tuesday for hurling a petrol bomb at CRPF officers. Video footage of a petrol bomb being hurled at security officials by a burqa-clad woman went viral on social media. They hurled petrol bombs at a CRPF bunker in Sopore, Kashmir.

Police said the woman's name is Hasina Akhtar and she is an activist of the banned militant group Dukhtaran e Millat. She had been arrested on treason charges before and are accused in three UAPA cases, police said.

They were recently released on bail after being involved in a similar case, police said. Police said they had identified the suspect on the day of the bombing but the arrest was delayed because they were in hiding. Police said her husband was also accused of assaulting security personnel earlier.
