THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The feud between INTUC and VD Satheesan is intensifying. Things got worse after INTUC activists staged a protest against VD Satheesan's statement that INTUC was not a feeder organization of the Congress. The state Congress leadership is upset over the protest by INTUC workers in Changanassery. VD Satheesan is also dissatisfied with the delay in taking action against the protesters.
Meanwhile, INTUC leader PP Thomas has revealed that they are not afraid of disciplinary action. He said what they expressed was the sentiment of the workers. PP Thomas pointed out that there was no one behind them.
The INTUC leader said that a representative of Chennithala had him for a meeting. "Satheesan is the one who is accompanied by a group who wants to create disturbances within the party. The INTUC has been with the Congress for so many years. Satheesan's statement against the organization could not be accepted," Thomas said.
The protest was sparked by the opposition leader's statement that the INTUC was not a feeder organization of the Congress. Satheesan, who said that the INTUC was an integral organization working in connection with the Congress, added that the integral organization and the feeder organization are two.
"Congress cannot give commands to the INTUC. The INTUC does not function as a feeder organization like the Youth Congress, the Mahila Congress or the Seva Dal. It is an independent association that has a special election. There is no need to change my stance," he said.
