AYODHYA: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation not to take commercial tax from temples and other religious shrines. He was visiting Ayodhya after assuming charge of Uttar Pradesh for the second term. Adityanath also visited the Hanumangarhi temple and the construction site of the Lord Ram temple.

According to the Uttar Pradesh CM, the municipal corporation should not charge house tax, water tax, sewer tax from temples, charity organizations and other institutions at commercial rates as all these institutions do charity work and public service. During the visit, Yogi also observed the preparations for the Ram Navami Mela which will be taking place after a gap of two years following the Covid pandemic.
