THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader and Union Minister V Muraleedharan, who had set out to create awareness among the people against the Pinarayi government's K Rail project, was welcomed by protest from a communist family. Eventually, the Union Minister had to abandon the awareness campaign and go back.
Muraleedharan was left speechless when the housewife reiterated that her family did not need a single rupee and that they were with the state government's development plan. The Union Minister was campaigning against the project by visiting houses. The incident took place in Kazhakoottam.
Muraleedharan faced unexpected protest when he visited the house of CPM councillor LS Kavitha. When the team led by Muraleedharan arrived this morning, only the councillor's parents were at home. "I am a mother of two daughters. I am willing to give away my property for the project. We are with the government," the housewife said. She also challenged that the project will be implemented at any cost.
Meanwhile, the minister responded by stating that the housewife was following the same policy as the CPM. "CPM is not interested in hearing what others have to say. The party wants everyone to listen and obey its orders. The housewife is also following this same policy. If you have more than enough land, you can give it to the project," Muraleedharan said.
"We can go to Guruvayur in an hour and a half without any companionship. We are only happy. It is a development project that will benefit the next generation. We will implement it at any cost," the housewife said. She confronted the union minister chanting the slogan 'Jananayagan Pinarayi Vijayan'.
