THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister of Industries P Rajeev informs that 41 public sector enterprises operating under the Industries Department have recorded a turnover of Rs 3884.06 crore for the financial year 2021-22. There has been Rs 562.69 crore increase in turn over compared to last financial year.
The total operating profit of the companies was Rs 384.60 crore. Operating profit increased by Rs 273.38 crore. There is an increase of 245.62 per cent when compared to previous year, said P Rajeev. Of the 41 PSUs, 20 companies made operating profits in the last financial year. In the previous year, 16 companies had made profit. Four new companies became profitable this year. The five companies have an all-time record in terms of turnover and operating profit.
Chavara KMML is at the forefront of turnover and operating profit. KMML had a turnover of Rs 1058 crore and an operating profit of Rs 332.20 crore. This is the best performance in the history of the company and the highest operating profit ever achieved by a public sector undertaking in the history of the state. Travancore Cochin Chemicals, Keltron, Travancore Titanium and Keltron Component performed the best in their history. Malappuram Spinning Mill, Steel Industries Kerala, KADCO, Priyadarshini Spinning Mill, Kerala Ceramics, Clays and Ceramics, K. Karunakaran Memorial Spinning Mill, Malabar Textiles, Metal Industries, Trivandrum Spinning Mill, Textile Corporation also did their best performances in the past 10 years.
