THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Health University has announced that it will provide clinical training and conduct special examinations for the 2017 batch of MBBS students who boycotted the final year examinations in protest of not providing adequate clinical postings before exams. The examination of the first paper is over. They can write the next seven papers. A special examination will be conducted for those who didn't write. This will be considered as the first chance. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr CP Vijayan told Kerala Kaumudi that there will be no action against the students.
The clinical posting was out of tune because of Covid. The exam was held after the colleges informed that adequate training will be given.
This year is the last chance to write the NEET PG exam before the new NExT entrance exam starts. That is why the examination is conducted on time. The result will be published soon. Preliminary estimates put the number of students who appeared for exams at 1,700, PVC said.
2156 students say they have not written the exam. This is 74 percent of those who have registered for the exam. According to the syllabus, 792 hours of clinical training is required. The students received only 580 hours. Those who do not have the required hours of clinical training will not be able to write or practice the PG entrance exam. Students are asked to reschedule the exam to ensure clinical training.
