ANGAMALI: A woman was arrested in connection with the seizure of ganja and hashish oil kept in a car in the parking area of her flat in Karayamparambu. Seema Chacko (Soni 40), a resident of Pulinthara in Edathwa, Kuttanad, was arrested by a special investigation team led by district police chief K Karthik. Eleven and a half kg of ganja and 1.5 kg of hashish oil were seized from the car of Mohammad Zahir, a native of Koduvalli.
Eight people, including Mohammad Zahir, have been arrested. Seema, who speaks different languages, has travelled to Andhra Pradesh several times with another accused, Ronaldo Jabbar, to buy cannabis. Seema activity is based in Nedumbassery. She is the third woman to be arrested recently in a rural district in connection with a drug case. The case is being probed by a team comprising Inspector Soni Mathai, SIs Arun Dev, TM Sufi and Dini.
