KOCHI: The High Court will give its verdict on Monday, on the plea filed by Sagar Vincent, an Alappuzha native and a witness in the actress attack case. Sagar was an employee in Laksyah owned by Kavya Madhavan.
Sagar had filed the petition alleging that he was being threatened to fabricate fake evidence by crime branch DySP Baiju Paulose. The plea also demands to stay further actions on the notice issued by the investigation team asking him to appear for questioning as part of further investigation.
The prosecution had earlier informed the court that Sagar’s allegations were baseless. Sagar had told the probe team that Vijeesh, the fourth accused in the case, had reached the institution following the incident and inquired whether Dileep, Kavya or any other relatives were there. He went back on being told that no one was there. However, Sagar did not mention this while giving secret statement before the magistrate.
Meantime, the High Court will also give its verdict on the bail application filed by Vijeesh. The petition states that imprisonment without bail, in a case whose trial is pending, is in violation of human rights and hence bail should be granted.
