AMRAVATI: A new Royal Enfield bike parked on a public road caught fire and exploded. The incident took place in Andhra Pradesh's Anandapur district. The bike, which was parked near the temple, caught fire.

After buying the bike, owner Ravichandran drove about 387 km from Mysore to Netikanthi Anjaneya Swamy Temple. After parking, Ravichandran entered the temple and his bike caught fire. Later, the petrol tank of the bike exploded. No one was injured in the incident.

A few days ago, explosion of an electric scooter parked in Chennai had sparked discussions on the safety of electric vehicles. The accident took place near Manjambakkam toll plaza. Pure EV, a Hyderabad-based start-up, was the maker. On March 28, Ola's S Own electric scooter, which was parked on the roadside in Pune, also caught fire.
