KOCHI: Pulsar Suni, the first accused in the actress attack case, has approached the Supreme Court seeking bail. All the accused in the case except him have been granted bail. As further probe continues, many more witnesses will have to be cross-examined.
Therefore, the proceedings related to the case may go on indefinitely. There is no possibility for the trial proceedings to be completed in the near future and so should grant bail, Suni demanded.
Meantime, Vijeesh, the fourth accused in the case was granted bail yesterday. He had filed a plea in the high court seeking bail as the trial was being delayed.
The plea pointed that imprisonment without bail is violation of human rights. Following this, the high court had granted him bail yesterday.
Vijeesh was in the vehicle along with the first accused Pulsar Suni at the time of attacking the actress. With Vijeesh also getting bail, only Pulsar Suni is in jail in the case. Suni’s bail pleas were rejected many times.
