THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman hacked a youth when he asked her to vacate the rented house. She hacked the youth, a broker, on his head and hands with a machete.

The provoked youth returned with weapons and hacked her on her head, arms and lips. The locals hearing the uproar informed the Poonthura police. The police arrested Jayan (40) of House No 18 in Kamaleswaram and Remya (37) of House Number 30 in Valiyaveedu Line.

The incident happened Monday evening. The woman was living in a rented house near Valiyaveedu in Kamaleswaram. It was Jayan who arranged the house for her.

When the woman refused to vacate the house after her tenure ended, the house owner told broker Jayan about it. When he came to talk to her about it, a dispute broke out and she injured him with a machete.

Jayan who left the place returned with weapons and then hacked her. The police have arrested the two on charges of attempt to murder.
