NEW DELHI: ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ (One India, Best India) is the goal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to the party workers on BJP’s 42nd founding day. Every worker’s aim should be to bring India forward in the global level. The BJP is working in the interest of the nation, he said.

While mentioning about the BJP’s and the government’s activities, Modi also criticized the Congress indirectly. There are two kinds of politics present in the country. One stands for ‘parivar bhakti’ (devotion towards family) and another for ‘rashtra bhakti’ (patriotism), he said. While our opponents stand for parivar bhakti, the BJP works with patriotism. For decades, some parties have practiced vote-bank politics. The political outfits dedicated to further family rule have little regard for constitutional norms. They never allow the country’s youth to go ahead. They have deceived them, said Modi criticizing the Congress.

The party’s base is to work for the upliftment of poor, women and socially backward people. The BJP-led governments at the centre and states have worked to take welfare schemes to every beneficiary without any bias and discrimination, reflecting the motto of ‘sabka saath, sabka vikas’, he added.

Today, India stands firm before the world with its interests without any fear or pressure. When the entire world is divided into two rival factions, India is being viewed as a nation that can firmly speak about humanity. India’s strong independent stance has allowed it to prioritize her national interests, without bowing to any global pressure, Modi said.

Numerous events have been planned by the party workers to mark the founding day celebrations, which will conclude on April 14 with the commemoration of Ambedkar Jayanti. The BJP, currently the largest party in India in terms of representation and membership in parliament, was founded in 1980.
