non-veg-food

RAJKOT: The Gujarat Animal Welfare Board have come forward with a strange demand seeking a ban on non-vegetarian food on domestic flights. The members of the Gujarat Animal Welfare Board and the Jain Community have written a letter to Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia seeking a ban on serving non-vegetarian meals on domestic flights.

Vegetarian passengers feel much more distressed and offended when non-veg food is served accidentally instead of veg food. The letter was written after an incident of serving non-veg food to a vegetarian sparked a controversy on Tokyo-Delhi flight.

Rajendra Shah, a member of the Animal Welfare Board, said that serving non-veg food to vegetarians causes anxiety and discomfort. The passenger who had to eat meat on the Tokyo-Delhi flight has not even eaten onions, garlic and potatoes. His parents were also upset over serving non-veg food.
