HYDERABAD: There are thieves who drill walls and steal from jewellery shops and houses. A thief who did the same tactic in a temple got his life back only by luck. A 30-year-old man who entered the Jami Yellamma temple in Srikakulam, a coastal village in Andhra Pradesh, got stuck in the hole he drilled.

The thief identified as Papa Rao made a small hole in the wall of the temple and entered. The thief was caught returning from the same hole after stealing gold from the temple. Unable to move forward or backward, Papa Rao finally called out to the locals. Eventually, the villagers called the police and rescued Papa Rao. The police were also happy when they caught the thief with the mainour from the theft spot.
