KASARAGOD: A Congress leader was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with a power line that snapped due to heavy rains. DV Balakrishnan (64), block president of Congress in Kanhangad, was travelling on his bike when the power line came in contact. He died on the spot. The incident took place at Kanhangad around 5 pm today.

The accident happened on the way back from his daughter's house. There was a small child on the bike with him. But the boy escaped unharmed.
