THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning in the state on Thursday. The central and southern parts of Kerala are likely to receive more rainfall.

Isolated rains are likely to continue till Sunday. A low pressure-area will be formed in the Bay of Bengal within the next 48 hours. Winds with a speed of up to 60 km per hour are expected in the southern Bay of Bengal. Fishermen should remain cautious, said the authorities.
