WAYANAD: A department-level action has been recommended in connection with the incident where Sindhu, a senior clerk of Mananthavady Sub-Regional Transport Office, committed suicide. The accused junior superintendent Ajitha Kumari will be asked to go on leave. The action is based on the investigation report of the joint commissioner of the Motor Vehicles Department.
The investigation found that there were disputes between the two regarding work. Meanwhile, investigators found a 20 - page diary and some notes in Sindhu's room. Police said there were indications in the diary that Sindhu had been mentally tortured by her colleagues in the office. The diary contained the names of some of her colleagues. Sindhu wrote in her diary that she was isolated in the office and will lose her job.
However, police said it was not certain if these issues had pushed her to commit suicide. The mobile phone and laptop taken into custody from Sindhu's room will be examined in detail.
