THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC lost Rs 40.37 crore from the plan fund due to untimely submission of the bill. The government had allocated Rs 99.91 crore for the plan fund of KSRTC in the last financial year. Of this, administrative sanction of 87.20 crore was received. Loss of 40.37 crore occured from that. There are indications that the indifferent behaviour of some employees has caused this loss to the corporation, which is going through a huge debt trap. Normally bills are paid at the end of the financial year. This time it was on March 28 and 29 on these were the days of trade union strike. For the remaining two days, things did not go as planned. Even the management does not deny this loss as it was a joint strike by all the unions except one. Normally the amount lost in the plan fund will not be recovered.

At the same time, the KST Employees' Union, a recognized trade union, has come out demanding action against those who are responsible for this loss.
