LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Shazil Islam Ansari got response hours after his controversial remarks against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A petrol pump in Bareilly, owned by Ansari, was allegedly demolished using a bulldozer in response to his criticisms. The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) took the action citing that the pump was constructed without getting approval for the map of the structure.
Ansari had made objectionable comments against Yogi Adityanath at a party function in Bareilly on Thursday. He had earlier said that the SP was much stronger in the current assembly than last, and that if Adityanath makes any noise, SP guns will not emit smoke, but fire bullets. The authorities bulldozed the petrol pump hours following his speech. The police have also registered a case against Ansari for his speech. As the controversy erupted, the MLA said that his remark had been taken literally, and edited by the news channel that aired it. However, he was not ready to comment on the pump’s demolition.
Earlier, Yogi had weaponized bulldozers to crack down on goons in the state. He had threatened the goons to surrender before the police as soon as possible or their houses will be demolished. With this, numerous goons had surrendered before the police. During his previous term, the police had also destroyed the houses and establishments of some goons in the state.
