KANNUR: Former Power Minister M M Mani has come out in criticism of KSEB Chairman B Ashok who suspended KSEB left wing president M G Suresh Kumar. This is not the emergency period. The chairman’s action is not right, said Mani.

The KSEB chairman has taken action against capable ones. Do not try to suppress the employee unions, he warned. Mani, who demanded to reinstate Suresh, also said that the power minister should examine the matter. Last day, the KSEB chairman had suspended KSEB officers’ association president M G Suresh Kumar on grounds that he had called for a strike violating service rules and raised baseless allegations insulting womanhood. Suresh Kumar was earlier a staff member of M M Mani and A K Balan.

Meantime, Power Minister Krishnankutty said that everyone, whoever it be, shall move ahead only by following rules and regulations. The chairman does not seem to be strict in the matter, he added.
