KOCHI: The crime branch informed the high court that they have obtained evidences from Dileep’s brother-in-law Sooraj’s phone which approves the revelation of director Balachandra Kumar that the actor has the visuals of the actress attacked. The involvement of the co-accused is also clear from this. Based on the crucial digital evidences, Kavya Madhavan should be questioned and along with that Dileep’s brother Anoop, Sooraj should also be questioned, the crime branch informed the court.

The crime branch said Kavya is in Chennai and is likely to return next week. The plea filed by the crime branch seeking three more months’ time to complete further probe in case of actress attacked, mentioned this. The plea stated that further investigation cannot be completed by April 15 as directed by the high court and that the results of the forensic examination of the digital evidence will not be fully received within this period.

The mobiles used by Dileep and his aides were given to a lab in Mumbai. Dileep's four lawyers had gone to Mumbai to examine the evidence in it. They should be questioned. The WhatsApp messages sent by Sooraj and Anoop seeking Balachandra Kumar's help in influencing a judge through bishop were recovered.


Got from Dileep’s phone the pictures of court documents with the judge’s signature. The court employees should be questioned. Though an application was given, the trial court has not given permission. An investigation is on over the leak of the visuals of the actress attacked from court. Permission was obtained to question the court employees on it.

There are proofs for the moves made by Dileep to sabotage the trial. The evidences were destroyed with the help of the lawyers. Only 90% of the data from Dileep’s two phones were examined. Time is needed to examine the remaining. The forensic report said evidences were destroyed from Dileep’s phones. Cyber expert Sai Sankar said the lawyers have a role in destroying evidences from the phone. He is absconding. Sai Sankar and the lawyers should be questioned in detail.


11161 videos and 11238 voice messages were found on the mobile phones submitted by Dileep and other accused in the high court. More than two lakh photographs and 1597 documents were also found in the forensic examination. The six phones belong to Dileep, his brother Anoop and brother-in-law Sooraj.

The three phones belonged to Dileep. One is that of Sooraj. 10879 voice messages, 65384 pictures, 6682 videos and 779 documents were obtained from the actor’s two phones alone. The details of these two phones alone will come around thirteen thousand pages. The police team is sorting out information from the forensic report of more than two lakh pages.
