SAN JOSE: A cargo plane skidded off the runway and crashed during an emergency landing in Costa Rica. The DHL Boeing 757 Freighter broke into two as it landed on the airport.
The Boeing-757, which took off from San Jose Airport on Thursday, was scheduled to land in Guatemala. However, the plane was forced to return a few minutes later for an emergency landing due to mechanical failure. The plane had skidded off the runway while landing.

On primary conclusion, a hydraulic problem in the plane had resulted in the crash. The airport was temporarily closed following the crash. Two crew members were aboard during the crash and both are in good health, said the authorities.
