THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An attempt is being made to resolve KSEB chairman-association war without further aggravation in connection with the suspension of a female employee who kept away from work without officially taking leave.

KSEB Officers Association President MJ Suresh Kumar left for Kannur yesterday to meet senior CPM and CITU leaders attending the party congress. This is as per the instructions of the party. A consensus talk will take place after the leaders arrive in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday after the party congress. Electricity Minister K Krishnankutty will also each Thiruvananthapuram on April 12. The CM's stance on the frequent disputes in the KSEB will be crucial.

The Officers' Association has declared a strike against KSEB management for imposing dies-non against employees who took part in a protest and for suspending Officers' Association President MJ Suresh Kumar and General Secretary B Harikumar. The strike will adversely affect the power supply in the state. An attempt is being made for a compromise as it will cause problems in the Left Front as well. Chairman B Ashok also said that the issue could be discussed in the presence of the minister. The current position of the union leaders is that the strike should not be intensified until the party leaders return.

Two months ago, there was a clash between the management and the pro-government organization over the provision of SISF security at the KSEB headquarters. Following this, Left Front convener A Vijayaraghavan intervened and talked to minister K Krishnankutty to resolve the issue. At the same time, it is learned that the management is planning to take Jasmine Banu back into service in the event that the High Court directed it to consider the explanation of Jasmine Banu and take a decision within five days.
