KANNUR: Senior congress leader K V Thomas was invited to the seminar as part of the CPM party congress as a Congress representative, said CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury. The question of whether K V Thomas would be protected if ousted by the Congress is not relevant now, he told the media.

Meantime, Yechury said the news of praising Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin is not true. He added that he had not said that Stalin was the best non-BJP chief minister.

He said non-BJP chief ministers should stand together. It is up to the congress to decide whether to cooperate with the CPM after correcting their mistakes. Those thinking to protect India will stand with the CPM, he said.
