KOCHI: The culprits who escaped from police station have been captured after 16 hours of search. Arun Sebastian (22) and Anson Dicosa (23), both accused in drug trafficking, robbery and assault cases, escaped from the Cheranellore police station around 11 pm on Friday. Both of them arrested in a snatching case escaped when they heard police officers talk on imposing KAAPA upon them. During the investigation conducted on basis of the mobile phone, the two were captured from NGO quarters near the Kakkanad at 3 pm yesterday.
The Kochi City Police needed a case within six months to charge KAAPA on both of them. Amid this, they got arrested in a snatching case.
Arun and Anson were arrested in a case of snatching Rs 500 from Rakesh, an employee of a hotel on Cheranellore hill and a native of Tamil Nadu. When the officers' attention was diverted, Anson opened the cell and the two fled in an instant.
Departmental action may be taken against police officers who were on duty then.
