KALPETTA: The police investigation into the suicide of Sindhu, a senior clerk in the sub-RT office, is progressing. As part of the investigation, the district police chief visited Mananthavady yesterday to assess the progress of the investigation. The departmental inquiry into the complaints was completed the other day.

Deputy Commissioner of Transport R Rajeev completed the departmental inquiry into allegations against officials at the Mananthavady RT office in Sindhu's suicide. The Deputy Commissioner went to the office and recorded the statement of the entire staff. It was also learned that a deliberate move was made at the Mananthavady sub-RT office to trap Sindhu through deception for reacting against corruption. Sindhu's relatives alleged that Sindhu's colleagues had planned to trap her in a corruption case by hiding money inside her shoes.

Police questioned the employees whose names were mentioned in Sindhu's notes, her colleagues who were in the group that went to see the RTO, and Mananthavady joint RTO Vinod Krishna. Police will collect evidence from Wayanad RTO E Mohandas tomorrow. The probe team will summon and question the officer working in Idukki district mentioned in Sindhu's letter. Police have produced in court the laptop, mobile phone, diary and letters found in Sindhu's room.
