BHOPAL: Congress activists set fire to the effigies of Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar in Madhya Pradesh. In the past, when the Congress was in power, these two persons, who were constantly protesting against the increase in fuel prices, were accused of being silent now.

The Congress says they are not uttering a word about the sharp rise in fuel prices during the BJP rule. Congress MLA PC Sharma, who led the burning of the effigies, said that in 2012, these actors have tweeted against rising fuel prices and inflation.

The actors said they could buy a vehicle but would need a loan to buy petrol and diesel. At that time the price of LPG cylinders was Rs 300-400. Petrol and diesel cost was around Rs 60 per litre. At present the price of LPG cylinders is around Rs 1000.

Now petrol and diesel prices have touched Rs 100-120 per litre. The MLA alleged that Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are not reacting on this occasion. He added that they have no concern for the common man.
