THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Isolated rains are likely to lash the state on Monday. The central meteorological department has warned of thundershowers for the next three hours in four districts of the state. The alert has been issued in the districts of Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur and Malappuram.
Winds of speed 40 kilometre per hour are also likely. Fishermen have been asked to be vigilant. The rain is caused by a cyclone in the south-western Bay of Bengal.
As the cyclone moves towards the Arabian Sea, the humid winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea will favour Kerala resulting in increased rainfall.
