KOLLAM: A visual that showed a man beating his 84-year-old mother had recently surfaced online. Now, the mother has come up saying that she has no complaint against her son. The woman, named Omana, said that the problem occurred as her son was given alcohol by someone.

"He did nothing other than pushing me down and hitting me in the back," Omana said. The video showed Omana's son beating her demanding money. He also beat his brother who tried to prevent the act.

Meanwhile, the police will file a case against Omana's son Omanakuttan for attempted murder. They will register the case on the basis of Omana's statement and the video.

The brutal attack took place yesterday afternoon. The visuals were captured by a student in the neighbourhood. Omana's clothes were seen falling during the attack and the visuals showed Omanakuttan hurling abuses at her. Omana was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Omana, however, refused to give a statement against her son to the police. But the police decided to register a case based on the visuals.
