THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A political agreement was reached in Palakkad yesterday to resolve the conflict in KSEB between the chairman and the pro-CPM Officers Association. Today problem solving discussion will be held in Thiruvananthapuram.

CPM-CITU leaders and KSEB leaders had a meeting at the party congress venue in Kannur. Minister Krishnankutty who will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram today will speak to those concerned after the cabinet meeting this morning. The Officers' Association has demanded the removal of Chairman B. Ashok. But the minister is not ready for a compromise to change the chairman. The government says it will send the wrong message.

Jasmine Banu is the woman leader in charge of power supply in Thiruvananthapuram was suspended. Officers' Association leaders boycotted work at Vidyuthi Bhavan and staged a satyagraha. This led to conflict and indefinite struggle between the chairman and the association.

This is the second time this year that left wing organizations in KSEB are protesting against the chairman. The earlier agitation was resolved with the intervention of Left Front Convener A. Vijayaraghavan. The satyagraha led by the Officers Association started at Vaidyuthi Bhavan yesterday. Meanwhile, the IAS Association yesterday lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister against the employees' union for exceeding their limites and personally attacking IAS officers.
