KOCHI: The crime branch filed a plea urging to quash the bail granted to actor Dileep in the case of attacking the actress. He is accused of destroying evidence and influencing the case.

Dileep was granted bail by the high court in 2017 on the condition that he should not influence the case in any way. However, the investigating official filed a plea in the trial court seeking cancellation of bail on the ground that he had violated the conditions.

Meantime, investigating officer DySP Baiju Paulose appeared in the trial court in Kochi today. The court had sought an explanation in the plea filed by the respondent in connection with the leak of some documents of the court proceedings to the media.

However, the court found that his explanation was not satisfactory and sought a report from crime branch ADGP. Meanwhile, Dileep's sister's husband Suraj has also filed a plea in the high court seeking stay of the media trial. The high court will consider the plea today.

The crime branch rejected the demand of actress Kavya Madhavan to question her at her house in connection with the further investigation into the case. The crime branch is of the stand that they cannot question her at her house. Kavya said she can choose a suitable place as she is a witness.

However, the investigation team has not yet suggested another location other than the police club. The crime branch had issued a notice to appear on Monday for questioning but it was postponed to today at the request of Kavya.
