HYDERABAD: A stone structure inside the university campus was found to be converted into a Ram temple on the occasion of Ram Navami. The incident took place overnight inside the University of Hyderabad. Various student groups have alleged that the ABVP was behind the move and that it was an attempt to saffronize the university.
The Ambedkar Students' Association (ASA) and the Students Federation of India (SFI) said the move was aimed at provoking non-Hindu students. However, the ABVP has not made an official response regarding the issue.
The Ram temple was erected within a stone structure near the boys' hostel and the chief warden's office. Portraits of Ram and Hanuman were installed in the temple. Saffron flags were also seen in the area.
