KOCHI: The examinations that took place in Maharajas College where students wrote the exam under the flashlight of mobile phones due to lack of light, has been cancelled as the issue became controversial. The examination was cancelled by the Principal following a directive from the governing council. The power went out during the exams for first year undergraduate students and second year PG students. With this, the students were able to write the exam using the flashlight of the mobile phone which was banned by the examination controller during the exam.

The examination was cancelled by the Principal as it was an autonomous college under MG University. The power supply to the college was cut off due to strong winds and heavy rains. The college authorities have not been able to provide necessary facilities for the power outage. With this the students were allowed to write the exam in mobile light. The incident sparked controversy and the examination itself had to be cancelled.
