THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has come up with a scheme to provide food grains to tribal villages in the state through mobile ration shops as a Vishu gift. Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR Anil will inaugurate the scheme on April 14 at 2 pm at Puravimala Adivasi village in Amboori Panchayat in Kattakkada Taluk.
The Left government is of the view that all sections of the society should be able to celebrate festival days in abundance. The scheme of mobile ration shops has been launched in the state during the festive season with that aim in mind. As part of this scheme, rations are being distributed directly to 183 families in Puravimala, Thenmala and Kannamamoodu tribal villages of Amburi panchayath. The government is aiming to expand mobile ration shops, including in areas inhabited by backward classes in the coming days.
