NEW DELHI: The UGC is planning to offer two undergraduate or postgraduate courses simultaneously from next academic year as part of the National Education Policy to implement reforms in the field of education. The UGC chairman Jagadish Kumar said that the guidelines for this will be released today.
Updates are as follows:
Two degree courses / PG degree / PG diploma courses combined. Both courses can be in offline mode or one course in offline mode and the second course in online or both courses are online.
If both the courses are in offline mode then the attendance requirement can be decided by the universities.
A student who is qualified to do PG course can do another degree course.
Courses can be done under the same university or in different universities
Different subjects can be studied together (eg BA History and B.Sc Maths)
This facility is not applicable for Humanities, Science, Commerce, PhD, M.Phil and Technical courses.
Special admission procedure for each course as per University rules.
Both courses doesn't have to be done in the same year
Universities can decide whether to offer the facility to do two courses.
