PALAKKAD: A man killed his wife by slitting her throat in Kizhakkancherry. She has been identified as Elsy (58), wife of Varghese of Kottakkulam. Varghese himself informed the police about the crime. Varghese, who attempted suicide after the incident has been admitted at Palakkad district hospital.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon at 12.30 pm. After confirming her death, Appachan alias Varghese called police and told them that he was also going to die. When the police reached the spot with the help of the cyber cell, he was found hanging in the kitchen after slitting his wrist. He was first taken to a private hospital in Wadakkanchery and later to Palakkad district hospital. Police said that he is out of danger and the cause of murder is being investigated.
